How To

  • Step 1)
    Wash with Crown Cleanse Shampoo, concentrating on the roots of your hair. Stimulate your follicles by gently working the shampoo into your scalp with your fingers. Leave for 2 mins if possible before rinsing.

  • Step 2)
    Nourish thirsty strands with the Crown Boost Conditioning Treatment.

  • Step 3)
    Apply the Serum directly to the scalp (wet or dry hair is fine!) by parting in segments. Stimulate your roots with a little wiggle - no need to rinse.

What is a scalp microbiome?

Just as our gut has live bacteria (AKA ‘microbes’) so does our scalp. With its own unique ecosystem, the scalp is host to a range of microbes (from bacteria and fungi through to environmental toxins) that live on the scalp’s surface and feed on sebum (your hair’s natural oil). A balanced scalp microbiome is one where diverse bacteria work together as a team to strengthen the skin’s surface layer and create a habitat for follicles to thrive and roots to grow into healthy Straands.

How soon will I see results?

No two Straands of hair are the same, which means no two scalp microbiomes will balance out in the same way or at the same time. As a rule of thumb, we suggest adding scalp care into your beauty routine, stat! By massaging your scalp (from the scalp to roots and strands) with The Crown Cleanse, two to three times a week (completing a two-step rinse and repeat cycle), healthy hair and a balanced biome will be at your fingertips in no time.

What causes dandruff?

Flaky scalp? That’s your microbiome waving a red flag. Dandruff is caused by an imbalance in the scalp’s microbiome, often due to an overgrowth of a yeast-like fungus called Malassezia. This fungus feeds on the natural oils (sebum) on your scalp, breaking them down into fatty acids that can cause irritation in some people. The result? Flaking, itchiness, and scalp inflammation.

Other factors that contribute to dandruff flare-ups include stress, seasonal changes, product buildup, and water temperature. High stress levels can weaken your immune system, making your scalp more susceptible to irritation. Cold, dry air in winter or increased humidity in summer can disrupt scalp balance. Heavy styling products and infrequent washing can trap oil, dead skin, and yeast, leading to buildup. Even the temperature of your shower can make a difference. Hot water can strip the scalp of essential moisture, triggering dryness and flaking.

    Wonderful for PCOS Hormone scalp.

    I got the starter kit as I loved the sound of the serum and it's ability to remove excess oil, which is one of my biggest issues. I can wash my hair and the next day it is instantly greasy. I have tried excess of around 12 different shampoos over the past 5 years and none have really improved my scalp health or removed stubborn dandruff. I am quite a scent gal, so I wasn't overally keen on the smell of the shampoo and conditioner - but it has grown on me. It leaves a subtle, clean smell in the hair after using. I have hair down to my bottom, so it's extremely long and product goes a long way. The small starter kit bottles on XL hair go about 4 uses. My hair is definitely at its healthiest with using this product, I have had compliments after washing my hair. Very impressed with the serum - it is absorbed into the scalp but has no oily residue. I have already ordered the large set now, which is due to arrive this week!

    DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS

    I TRIED THIS TODAY AND WAS REALLY SURPRISED AT THE RESULT. MY HAIR HAS HAD A DETOX AND FEELS REALLY CLEAN AND SOFT. I HAVE VERY POROUS, COARSE HAIR SO TO FEEL IT TODAY IT IS QUITE DIFFERENT. I HAVE PSORIASIS ON MY HEAD AND SINCE USING THIS TRIO THIS MORNING I HAVEN'T 'SCRATCHED' MY SCALP AT ALL - WHICH I DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE DONE AFTER MY USUAL SHAMPOO!     Great starter kit

    This a great little starter kit to try the products. The serum is light and non-greasy. The shampoo and conditioner are nice and leave my hair feeling lovely and soft. But best of all I have noticed an overall improvement in the condition of my scalp so I will probably buy the full sizes in the future.
