From weird to wonderful, we’ve come a long way. When STRAAND launched three years ago, scalp care was still sitting in the back corner of beauty. A little misunderstood. A lot underrated. And definitely not trending.

But we saw it coming. And so did you.

Somewhere along the way, scalp care got labelled as a ‘problem to fix,’ not a part of self-care. We’ve been told to hide flakes, soothe itch, or just scrub and hope.

Then: At the time, scalp care was boxed in as a “fix” for flakes, for itch, for embarrassment. That made us easy to dismiss as “just a dandruff brand.” And honestly? That label stuck longer than it should have.

The Crown Cleanse Shampoo was our start. Microbiome-first, sulfate-free, a risky neon orange and packed with prebiotics long before “scalp barrier” entered the chat. We had a homemade photoshoot, Zoë Foster Blake on our first PR list (eee!), and a very nervous team pressing ‘publish’ knowing full well we had to look like a brand, perform like a business, and deliver like a global beauty name… all while figuring it out in real time.

Now: We’ve evolved from one shampoo into a full ritual that supports your scalp every step of the way. Thoughtful formulas that tackle the root cause, not just the symptoms. From pre-wash options to our award-winning post-wash serum, we make it easy to slip scalp care into any routine.

The “just dandruff” label? It’s fading. Because ‘healthy’ or ‘unhealthy’ scalps aren’t a problem to hide or a status symbol, they’re the cheat code for hair that truly thrives. And we’re still here, leading the way.


From Vision Board to Out Of Stock. 

Then: Somewhere between shipping orders and explaining what a microbiome is for the hundredth time, we did what every slightly sleep-deprived, overly ambitious marketing girl does: we made a vision board.

Yep. Full Pinterest-woo. Crystals might’ve been involved. The Adore Beauty logo was front and centre. So was a Tim Tam. Three months later? We were in. And frantically trying to keep up with orders.

Now: You’ll find us side-by-side with legacy names in some of the biggest beauty playgrounds like SEPHORA, Adore Beauty and OzHair; still figuring out how to stay in stock (some things never change). Not because we flipped the script on who we are, but because the world finally caught up. More shelves, more doors, and more scalp-first converts are on the way. 

Our biggest win? You. 

Then: Big love to the early adopters who took a chance before we even had a marketing budget. You trusted a serum with “prebiotic” on the label, and you *actually* put it on your heads!? We felt seen. 

We were shipping out of our kitchens, Googling packaging regs at midnight… and somehow, you still came with us. Influencers actually showed up to our first event (we thought it might just be us and the catering). You posted unboxings. You sent before-and-afters. You made this feel like more than a launch, like it scalp care mattered just as much to you, as it did for us.

Now: 50,000+ scalps later, you’ve turned a wild idea into a daily ritual. You’ve tagged us in your routines, shared your flaky-to-glazed glow-ups, and whispered us into your hairdressers’, sisters’, and group chats.

We’ve seen the before-and-afters, heard the DMs, and honestly? We’re still obsessed. Because scalp care was never meant to be a last-minute fix. It’s a daily practice, and it only exists because you showed up first.
